Jesus did you know, YES!

Jesus did you know…I have not an earthly Father to celebrate tomorrow

Jesus did you know…The night he took his life with gun in hand and shed his own blood he too shed the blood from our hearts

Jesus did you know…As I heard the piercing scream as my mom dropped the phone. Deafeated at all costs his soul lost. In a moment our lives changed

Jesus did you know…I was only 9, but I remember the anger raging through me. Sitting on a neighbors lap. Watching my mom sobbing. Raising my fist to the heavens asking how could you do this. Remembering her pleads, “please don’t do it”. 200 miles away. I often wonder how she has managed to be okay?

Jesus did you know…I don’t have a lot of memory of the times we shared, but every picture says in sentiment I was a daddy’s girl through and through. He taught me to read, write, and ride my blue banana seat bike. I do know he loved me

Jesus did you know…Yes just as you know the count of every hair on my head, and that of my next thought. I need not wonder. You have purposed this all. I may not have an earthly Father but I have a heavenly one that loves beyond any measure I can compare. Unconditional, merciful, and gracious. How great a love I have found in you!!

Jesus you know!

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. 139

1You have searched me, Lord,

and you know me.

2You know when I sit and when I rise;

you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3You discern my going out and my lying down;

you are familiar with all my ways.

4Before a word is on my tongue

you, Lord, know it completely.

5You hem me in behind and before,

and you lay your hand upon me.

6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too lofty for me to attain.

7Where can I go from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

8If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

11If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

12even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

13For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

15My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

16Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

17How precious to me are your thoughts,#17 Or How amazing are your thoughts concerning me God!

How vast is the sum of them!

18Were I to count them,

they would outnumber the grains of sand—

when I awake, I am still with you.

19If only you, God, would slay the wicked!

Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!

20They speak of you with evil intent;

your adversaries misuse your name.

21Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,

and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?

22I have nothing but hatred for them;

I count them my enemies.

23Search me, God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

    1. I noticed today in my reading many dad’s are gone. My hope is these people have or will come to the knowledge of Jesus’s love. No greater love known to man. Sorry for your loss as well. I used to not understand the bottom as he succumbed to. I do now though. It is in this life God has literally made me experience first hand every walk of life. So now I am an Empathetist. Which is good, it helps me understand people, and be more gracious and loving myself. Thank you, and blessings for today❤🌸

    1. Thank you. I told Theological Jon to come up with a good comparison for earthly to heavenly. I hope that those that do not have a earthly cab understand the love that is go great of our heavenly Father. That is a tragic story. In all tragedy is purpose when we turn to Christ!! Thank you for sharing. ❤🌸

  2. I’m so sorry for your loss. And grateful we do have a good good Father who loves us unconditionally–faithful, constantly watching over us. I had 2 fathers–not good. God bless you today 🙂

    1. I do find healing here. I have been writing since I was a child. Kind of put on hold with motherhood and all that came with my life. It was funny because I came upon a post that you mentioned loving puns. I do to. Always have. 😀. They are so punny. Some people don’t think so though. I love to ryhme too. Anyways thank you for reading. Sometimes until I am writing I don’t realize how much something has actually effected or touched my life. Life is hard, but we persevere. Or you get this story. Have a great day!!

      1. Likewise, always keep journals etc. Now most of what I write just pours out so i can relate to how certain things affect you in life.
        As for the puns, it’s the little things, if I can bring a smile with my silly wit then that kinda of makes my day.

      2. That is how I am. I beat box, and ryhme all time. I think once I started writitng I realized my better writing was more of a poetic nature. I did not have my niche yet. I am getting though. I am a white girl who can not dance, but knows I can sing. I find a lot of joy in the little things. That probably make my 19 year old kid cringe. Yet he is just as goofy as I am. Oh well got to enjoy life while we can. 🎤🎵😀

      3. That’s a great attitude you have, never change and i have a 19 year old daughter as well so i tend to embarrass her with my umcoolness lol. Writing is certainly a process of learning about yourself…love it.

  3. Thank you for sharing this post, Lisa! What an ordeal you had gone through when you were 9 years old! He was there, and he was gone – taking his own life. Photos are precious to preserve memories. Yes, you’re always your daddy’s girl. More than that, you’re a Princess of our Heavenly Father who is King of all kings! He has looked after you all these years! He is holding you by your hand, walking with you till the end!

    1. That is what I wanted people to hear. I realized as I was reading WP today a lot of people are without fathers. I hope they too can come to the saving grace of Jesus. He can fill the void, and he loves us even more than that of paternal parents. Thank you so much. It was hard, but we came through it. ❤❤❤☝🙏

      1. My son-in-law’s dad died of cancer when he was seven. His mom died of similar cancer two years ago. We are his mom and dad. My dad died of stroke (8 months after the stroke). My husband’s dad died of returning prostate cancer in 2008. I was in hospital after hysterectomy, and was diagnosed with cancer. Next day while I was in the hospital, got a call about his passing, and I asked them to schedule the service later enough for me to go home and attend. My daughter’s dad had mental problem and was disconnected with her. One year I bought her the book “You are the Princess” and the first page says, “Your Heavenly Father is the King of all kings.” She keeps the book in her bathroom until this day. Thank you for your post! 🙂
